Welcom to Rocky Point

So, yesterday day I began a week long adventure at a women's weight loss camp in Rocky Point Mexico.  Sarina Brown, our trusty trainer, chef and leader is taking a through a week of eating healthy (no carbs!)  We also work out three times/day.  Here is a picture from my balcony window.

Needless to say this is SUCH a treat for me and I really love and appreciate my beautiful family for giving me the space to do this.  My body needs my focus this week.  I am also really excited to bring backall sorts of healthy recipes.  I love you guys!

2 Years later

Well, a lot can happen in two years! Our beloved dog, Duke, passed away. Then we moved to Phoenix. Now, we have two big puppies--Olivia the 7 month old Rottweiler, and Ollie the year and something Shephard/Beagle. I would post a current picture of the family and where we live now, but I don't have those pics on this computer. While we miss our life and friends in Sedona, it is kinda nice being in a city again.

Sunny Days

We are so happy to play in our backyard this time of year. Everything is so pretty! And this year, thanks to the guidance of my sister Kathy and my friend Amy, I have my first garden ever. I planted lettuce, carrots, radishes and black beans. The only thing that grew were the radishes and black beans, thanks to our cat, Pepper, who turned one row of the garden into a litter box.

Duke still loves when we all come out and swim. Although he doesn't get up quite as quickly to greet us, he still barks when pool play gets too rambunctious. Other than that, he pretty much sleeps and eats. He'll be 14 on July 11th. He has sure put up with alot with this family. We love him!

Pool season

It's that time of year, again. We can start swimming in our pool. Yeah! This year we actually hired a pool guy and he recommended draining it, acid washing it and refilling it. So that we did. Then, instead of using a garden hose to fill it back up, I found a big red truck with a HUGE hose, and filled it up that way. The boys had fun playing while it filled up.

Busy Spring Break

I know...our kids don't go to school, so what's with the "Spring break" title? Well, almost everyone we know goes to school, so when they are on spring break, things can get a little busy around here. Two of our favorite activities were an overnight visit with our cousins, the Gile's, and a week trip to Denver to see Grandma, the Giles's, and Taylor Swift (Sam did that one!)

Saint Patrick's Day Parade

In Sedona, we celebrated our St. Patty's Day parade early. Samantha (far left), and her friends Kendall and Savannah, marched in the parade with the mini's from Horse Mesa. The mini's looked adorable! Thank you Woellmer's for helping the girls put this all together.
Henry and his friend Mary "doubled up" in hopes of getting more candy! Frank got to ride in the fire truck! (I don't know why this is underlining, but I can't seem to fix it.) All in all it was a wonderful day had by all.

Beauty

October of 2009, Will and I took a trip to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. It was sooo beautiful! I highly recommend it -- much different than the South Rim. Anyway, as much as I would like to take trips like this all the time, I can't.

One of the things I've gotten in touch with lately is the beauty in everyday life. The beauty right in front of my eyes. The laughter of a family when something funny happens. The surprise on our kitty's eyes when he does something silly. The contentment on someone's face when they are engrossed in a project. The feel of my childrens' skin when they hug me. The way my heart feels when Will smiles. When my life becomes less busy, as it has these past 4 years, all I have is time. What a wonderful gift to experience my unique life within.
